Yesterday's Tomorrow

Remember yesterday when it came time to do that one thing that you hate and you shook your head and said you'd do it tomorrow?

Well?

There is no lack of opportunities to do God's work, no matter where you are from. All around their are people suffering from wounds, both physical and metaphorical, that need to be healed. There are those who are lonely, crying out for help. Even as we speak, injustice continues in our world, our country, our state, and our community.

When we see these things, we are often overwhelmed by their magnitude. We don't know what to do. How can we fix the world? How can we solve so many problems? How can we save all these people? We must remember, though, that this is not our responsibility. We are a part of God's greater story of how He has redeemed our broken world.

But still, we must act. Just because we cannot fix the entire problem in our lifetime does not mean that we should not try to be a part of the solution. Help is not on it's way. Help is here. The tomorrow you spoke of yesterday is here now.

So next time you see injustice, do not stop and ask God, "How could you let this happen?" He may ask you the same thing.
